Microteaching - Part 2

I don't know what I'm going to say here >.<
I will tell the main idea only, because they were very good in teaching practice and make me confused...OK, let's move ^^

Our micro teaching course on Thursday, February 23rd 2012 was so meaningful to me, it just because we used our micro teaching lab, so the teaching chemistry were so strong, haha
Especially, our friends who presented their teaching practices have done their best perfectly ... They are Ayu, Priska, and Desya.

First, Ayu taught about folktale ... I like the way when she read the folktale for us with a good expression and she gave instructions slowly, so the students could understand it. But sometimes, she yelled us with "negative impression" like "Poor you!!", wow...it's a huge matter, the students would not respect you, if you still said like that. Please be careful, tie :)

The second teaching practice is Priska, hmmm, she taught so well ... she will be a good teacher I think, she could bring the material become more interesting to learn, she was so patient too ... It looked when she paid attention to her students one by one until we understood. You have done a great job, sist ... My suggestion for you, please be careful with your time management, when the discussion time, you gave us too much times, it could make your students bored and chatted with another friends.

The last chance is Desya ... she have done her best ... she could explain clearly and gave the students more active by giving us candies (but it limited, and make us become annoyed with her, haha just kidding). I like the way you motivated like that, but please gave the candies not in the first time in answering your opening questions. It would be better if you gave the candies in the end of the class to your most active students ^^

But overall they have perform their best, and may be I can not as good as you in teaching. Keep on smiling, ties :)

Microteaching-Part 1

Today we get the real micro teaching class!! Yes, it is the first day of presentation. We have to teach our friends alternately with the material which has been prepared before, there is three students who have to teach in front of class per meeting and today the turns is for Wahyu, Windhi and Rini. Here I will share about the appearance about the 3 sweet girls \^^/

The first turns was Wahyu Rochmawati, she taught about the civic education about the rules in surrounding environment (school and community). She taught clear enough, but if she could use some props, it wiuld be better, because as elementary school’s students we need the real thing to understand the lesson. Maybe she could bring or show some school rules, but her idea to show some pictures about rules in surrounding environment could be recommended as a good teaching media. When she was teaching, she had activated the class by make student in some groups and gave the worksheets, she also ask about many thing to make the class became more active in responding the material, she had applied the asking skill in teaching, but it would be better if she motivated the students with “good answer”, “good idea”, “great” or if the student could answer the question with true answer, she could motivated by “yes, good answer!! could you repeat it once again?”. If you could motivated the students like that, it will be great ^^

The second turns was Windhi, she taught about the relationship between the day, week, month, year, and century. She had taught clearly and she had used a calender as the props in explaining the materials. It was a great idea, but the calender was very small to be looked the entire of students in the classroom, may be you could copy it in a sheet of paper to all of the students in the class, so each of students could look and observe it. You also could divide your class into some groups and gave them a worksheet, so you could know how far your students have understood about your material. If you just asked some of students, just the active students who would understand about the material, not all of the students, right ^^

The third turns is Rini, she taught about commutative operation, she taught clearly and had involved the students in filling the worksheets in a group, but she used no props in teaching and the teaching media was limited, and she also often focuses on a white board. It would be better if you were not focused on the white board, you had a good confidence and loud voice which very important in teaching skill, it will be great and better if you could improve all of them :)

So, when we teach we have to prepare our material well, prepare the props and worksheets to explaining and measure the students’ understanding, and also asking skills to activate the class. But overall they have perform their best, and may be I can not as good as you in teaching. Keep on smiling, ties :)

Experience is The Best Teacher

I had learned a lot of experience in our microteaching class in February 9th. Yesterday, we were formed into group which had been created before. In mini group, a group was consisted of five members. In that group, we also had to teach our friends as our students in elementary school with the material that had been designed before (make a lesson plan). In that time, I taught them mathematic lesson for fifth grader. I used some candies as my props in introducing GCF. I think that props is a tools which very helpful to help students become more understand about the material which is being taught. It was the one of important thing in determining a successful teaching. You have to make this aids in every teaching activity in the future, if you desire to be a good teacher, absolutely :)

But, in that time…actually I did not have preparation, no more … Could you imagine that?? I had not practiced to teach before, and also I did not bring candies as my props, good job^^ hoho, so I decided to make a pieces of paper and wrote down oranges candies and berry candies on them. I was satisfied enough with that, it was a good idea, wasn’t it? NO >.<

In the first time I teach, I felt very nervous because I was not ready anymore … but after that I enjoyed it, teaching in a mini group was the one of happiest moment, it because of my friends as my students who had given a lot of attention when I was teaching, and also they respected me as their teacher. Thanks, my students :D

I get some experience from my friends when they had their own turns to teach. From Theo, I loved the way when he gave good motivation to their students and he also had prepared his teaching props. The second one is Marry, she was a cheerful teacher, she always smiles to their students and she tried to interest the students with involving them in reading stories which had been read before by her. But you have to make a conclusion in the end of the class. Yes, it was very important thing to be determined. From Yessy, I also think that she was a cheerful teacher too, she always smiles and smiles…I think we have to determining this cases, we should smile to our students, indeed, but it will be better if we just smile in any certain momment, not in every momment, and from Yessy’s teaching practice I also get that we had to give our students motivation when he/she try to answer our questions, neither it was right or wrong. And may be student center is more effective way to attract students’ interest in learning new material then teaching center. And in the last is Rita, she was doing good job, but the material which had been taught is limited, so students also get limited knowledge, and as a teacher we have to expresive in teaching, both in act and speaking, we have to speak clearly in teaching so that our students will get our lesson and not get bored soon.

And the suggestion from my friend to me, I have to be more patient, if the student give answer which not right or different with the answer that I was expected. Thanks guys … you give me a lot of teaching experiences in teaching :)
I still have to practice, practice, practice to be a good teacher from you, guys ^^
